1 Bligh Street is the next generation in premium grade sustainable office space - a building that integrates leading edge design, technology and sustainability throughout its 28 levels, and in one of the world’s most enviable locations.
A flagship commercial development for co-owners DEXUS Property Group, DEXUS Wholesale Property Fund (DWPF) and Cbus Property, 1 Bligh Street is testament to a combined commitment to deliver highest quality office space.
The key attributes that make 1 Bligh Street such a unique environment are the abundance of natural light and range of views of Sydney city and harbour, enhanced through the double-skin facade and full-height glass atrium. Valmont therefore planned the suites to maximise these attributes, while ensuring each would deliver a unique workspace and demonstrate the scale of flexibility the building provides.
Each suite offers something a little different, be it in terms of facilities, aspect, built area or workspace design: the two outer spaces reflect the urban landscape, offering palettes of steel greys, muted blues, dark timbers and textured floor finishes while the central suites enhance the harbour views with palettes featuring warm blues and greens, sandstone colours and light timbers.
These palettes offer a sophisticated feel, ensuring that the overall scheme is consistent with a professional and corporate environment whilst also providing a contemporary look and feel to reception spaces and meeting areas. Importantly, sustainable materials have been specified and used throughout all tenancies to uphold the 6 star green rating that has been awarded to the building.
The common thread is the way in which the natural light has been maximised to penetrate workspaces, meeting zones, breakout spaces and the reception/waiting areas: through the use of glass, low height walls and vision panels, Valmont has ensured that views and light can be maximised in each tenancy.
The finished result is best summed up as clean, sophisticated and progressive – all attributes that reflect the building itself.

In order to provide potential tenants with a tangible demonstration of how cleverly office space under 450m2 can be planned and used, Valmont was commissioned by Dexus and CBUS to design and construct a range of display suites on Level 17. These suites had to reflect the overall inspiration the building provides to its tenants, while optimising space availability, pushing sustainable practices and creating a positive working environment. Each suite was to be unique in its design, to show just how flexible the spaces are and demonstrate the many ways the floorplate can be utilised.
