One of our latest projects - signed, sealed and delivered.
Our relationship with iinet continues to grow following the recent completion of their customer experience space in Subiaco, Perth.
Valmont jumped at the opportunity to create a space unlike any other retail telco offering, resetting the boundaries of what could be done to engage people through branded experience, not traditional retail structure. The floorplan focused on creating different ‘zones’ or experiences, including a welcome zone, home area, boardroom and main customer interaction space:
The welcome zone:
Integrating a reception desk, waiting area and interactive wall designed to engage the customer immediately, encouraging them to enter the space and helping them connect with iinet staff straight away. The curvilinear reception desk takes cues from the logotype and also sets the tone for the rest of the space.
The heart of iinet’s operations, the brief dictated that this be a key feature visible from the street and all corners of the entire space. The custom-produced curved glass provides total transparency for the centre no matter where people stand and being adjacent to the boardroom gives iinet an engaging platform to promote the brand.
A truly unique feature, the iihome needed to be aspirational, whilst still feeling ‘homely’ and somewhere customers could live – so it was designed to reflect an actual mini home complete with fence, front yard, entry, kitchen, home office, lounge room and bedroom. Designed to bedifferent to the rest of the space, the iihome demonstrates just how effectively iinet can integrate technology and connect people with all aspects of their day-to-day activities.
The customer experience zone:
Where customers can ‘hang out’ and connect with the iinet ‘Bob Squad’. Custom-designed furniture – including high back lounges, curved seating and blade walls with screens – provides a welcome space for customers to learn more about iinet products or simply relax.
The boardroom/meeting zone:
So much more than just a boardroom, this meeting zone, showcase area and presentation space allows the executive team to discuss, entertain and present to their clients. The key feature is most definitely the ‘iiglass’ which has the ability to change from clear to frosted at the flick of a switch: a great feature for presentations that gives the team the chance to reveal the space beyond.
The ceiling utilised a unique product called ‘Barrisol’, that brings a high quality, modern feel to the whole fitout while the flooring – a quartz product that was poured onsite – offers a sleek, almost industrial feel to the space, contrasting with the softer elements.
- Who's the clientiinet
- How big?314sqm
- Completed?October 2012
- What was the brief?
As a customer-centric business, iinet wanted to enable even greater engagement between its customers, the iinet team and the range of products and services available.
Thus, the brief highlighted the need for a truly unique space that engaged customers with the iinet brand, translating its values into a physical environment. The space had to incorporate a number of different areas while maintaining a consistent level of service, reflecting the brand’s ‘cool’ factor and providing unique and immersive surroundings.
